1. I can highly recommend Rosalind's Bridal & Alternations for any alterations projects, whether for a wedding or any occasion, & whether for a man, woman, or child. For about 10 years I've gone to Rosalind for every conceivable need. She has altered off-the-rack clothing to fit me perfectly. She has designed & sewn two suits for me (one was for our son's rehearsal dinner). She has taken apart & completely re-cut my mother's clothes (suits, jackets, a coat--in ultrasuede, silk, cotton), reducing them from about a size 18 to a 4. In every undertaking Rosalind insists on perfection. Here's an example: for an emerald green, crepe-de-chine suit, she used thread from the fabric to sew the hem on the bias skirt because she could not find thread that matched perfectly. Also she sews things like buttonholes by hand, when appropriate. Rosalind has altered beautiful Chinese silk jackets that were custom-made for me in Shanghai. She knows all styles--Chinese, traditional, contemporary. Her sense of style is unerring. And Rosalind is undaunted. She designed & sewed a velvet piano bench cover to show off my mother's needlepoint in the center.

2. Shopping once was a daunting experience for me because nothing fits off the rack. (Who really fits off the rack, anyway?) Things changed much for the better when I started coming to Rosalind about 8 years ago.
Now I know what ever I buy, if it doesn't fit right, Rosalind can make it perfect. And by perfect, I mean perfect. Often we add our own special design to the piece so that it becomes a unique fashion statement that was never even on the rack!
Rosalind is absolutely meticulous in her work. The difficult jobs of taking off sleeves of suit coats and shortening the inseams are not a problem. She even goes as far as removing the seams by hand and reusing the same thread, if the job calls for it. Rosalind is realistic with her pricing and her ability as well. If my request is going to cost too much or be too difficult to achieve, we talk it over, because she won't return an item to a customer unless it is just right.
My clothing is an investment and when I drop off pieces with Rosalind, never do I worry whether they are in good hands.
